Fortifikationsverket's mission is to provide the Armed Forces and authorities within total defense with suitable and adapted properties. We build, own, manage, and operate many different types of properties. The agency's headquarters is located in Eskilstuna.

The design unit is part of the project department, which has about 160 employees across the country and collective responsibility for the agency's construction investments. We are now looking for new colleagues in Stockholm to shape the team that will design buildings and facilities in-house.

Your daily life as a project manager at Fortifikationsverket

As a project manager at Fortifikationsverket, you will be a sought-after and important player in our ongoing and upcoming construction projects. You will work closely with our project managers and, over time, become part of a cohesive team including architects, civil engineers, and designers. In the design unit, we want to work continuously and collaboratively across disciplinary boundaries to develop concepts and proposals that early on address functionality, technology, and physical security.

The role of project manager involves both internal and external contacts, and complementary tasks that support the organization may occur. Your tasks will be varied, and you will continuously contribute to the development of our routines and working methods.

The projects require the team to work together in the office every working day. Initial placement is at Lovön, with a move to central Stockholm planned. Travel within Sweden may be included in the position.

What do you offer us?

We are looking for someone with a civil or higher engineering degree in civil engineering, technology, or equivalent, or comparable experience acquired in the workplace. You are experienced and versatile with at least eight years of experience in the construction and real estate industry, preferably in roles such as project manager, design manager, construction manager, and/or installation manager. You have coordinated and led BIM design and have a high knowledge of applicable regulations for construction.

It is advantageous if you have previous experience from new, renovation, or reconstruction projects involving security-classified information or confidentiality. We would like you to have worked with a range of assignments in both early and late stages. Training as Bas-U or Bas-P, as well as previous experience as a technical designer in areas such as electrical, HVAC, or construction, is advantageous.

Your personal qualities are very important to us, and we will place great emphasis on personal suitability. We are looking for someone who is solution-oriented and relationship-building. You work structured, independently, and collaboratively, with an unpretentious focus on the common goal. You are creative, positive, and not afraid of new challenges. The role requires a high level of security awareness.

You have excellent knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form, as well as good knowledge of English. Swedish citizenship and a driver's license, class B, are required.

About the employment

The position is a permanent employment. Swedish citizenship is required, as employment at Fortifikationsverket is security classified. This means that a security review and background check will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the security protection law. As a permanent employee, you will be assigned to a military position.
